Finding Inspiration in Every Turn

The Mad Max series is a heartwarming and empowering collection of children’s books that follow the everyday adventures of Max—a bright, curious, and autistic boy who experiences the world in a wonderfully unique way.

From falling in love with road signs and trains, to conquering first-day jitters in kindergarten, to discovering the calming rhythm of numbers and music, Max sees life through a special lens. Each story celebrates his vivid imagination, his need for routine and comfort, and the way his autism allows him to notice details and beauty others might miss.

Written with warmth and honesty, the Mad Max series helps readers of all ages understand and embrace what it means to be different. These stories open a window into the autistic experience, building empathy while celebrating the joy, intelligence, and magic that neurodivergent children bring to the world.

Mad Max isn’t “mad”—he’s madly passionate about the things he loves. Whether it’s counting stars, learning to play piano, memorizing train schedules, or spotting traffic signs from the back seat of a car, Max’s adventures highlight the strengths of an autistic mind.

Each book in the series gently explores challenges that Max faces—loud noises, new routines, or social confusion—but always through a lens of empowerment, patience, and self-discovery. He finds comfort in patterns, support in friends and family, and pride in being exactly who he is.

Through Max’s eyes, children learn that different doesn’t mean less— it means extraordinary.

Our Story

A Note from the Author:

I created this series to help my child with special needs feel extraordinary in this world. Straight out of high school, I pursued a degree in Mild Intervention and Special Needs Elementary Education, dedicating four years to gaining knowledge that I believed could enrich all aspects of my life. Fifteen years later, I found myself applying that knowledge much closer to home. My son Max was nonverbal until he was two years old, at which point I left my job to provide in-home therapy.

Early on, I noticed Maddox responded positively to videos and stories featuring children his own age completing tasks we were working on. He developed a fascination with logical concepts like shapes, colors, numbers, and letters. Being his mother is an honor for which I am deeply grateful, and creating this series has been one of the most fulfilling experiences of my life.

I would love to give your child a similarly enriching experience. If you're interested in a personalized book featuring your son or daughter, please feel free to reach out. Customized stories are innovative treasures and powerful tools to help your little one grow and thrive.
